The kitesurfing spot Langebaan lagoon is divided into two distinct areas. The southern end, being where Langebaan is and where the wetlands and nature conservation areas are. The northern end of the lagoon is called Saldanha Bay. Saldanha bay is a relatively flat water kitesurfing spot and perfect for freestyle and freeride. Saldanha Bay is the spot where the famous downwind dash ends, which starts in Langebaan.
Drive northwards on the R27 from Cape Town for approximately 125 km, take the Saldanha turn-off to the left. After 12 km, take the Saldanha turn-off to the left again. Park at the parking spaces by the beach. Rigging on the beach.
