Excellent wave and free-ride location, but also shared by many surfers and bathers. A good alternative for when the Cape Doctor (South Easter) blows more North West, West or South. South is actually the best direction, and even if Windfinder shows only 10 knots, conditions will be good here for freestyle! It hardly gets very strong in Strand, so bring your 12m-8m kites.

Most Kitesurfers kite in front of the Clubhouse on the Main Beach. This is right next to the Lifesaving club.Caters for beginner to advanced rider levels.
